| Judges declare Brittany the winner!
It was a close race around the arena, but student Brittany was declared the winner. Volunteer Scott, her "opponent," felt that he should have won by default, claiming Brittany's chair wasn't street legal. However, the judges decision was final and Scott graciously consented to having Brittany paint his head!

JNH hillside garden named "Garden of
the Month" by The Gardeners of
Florissant
| Volunteer spirit "blooms" at JNH
The Gardeners of Florissant selected Jamestown New Horizons' hillside
near the barn as their Garden of the Month. The hillside was quite
beautiful this summer with all the bushes, perennials and annuals in
full bloom.
The Gardeners of Florissant named Bonnie and Oliver Grueninger
honorary members at their Christmas party. They are a lovely group of
people who have helped Jamestown New Horizons a great deal during the
past two years. |

ordinary people who enrich our lives in the St. Louis region," according
to Cecilia Nadal, executive director of Gitana Productions, a
not-for-profit arts and education group in the St. Louis area. "We
couldn't agree more thatBonnie

Community Service Award
Jamestown New Horizons volunteer, Terry Anzalone, was honored by
Commerce Bank with their Community Service Award. The award was
presented during a special luncheon at the Norwood Hills Country Club,
hosted by David G. Cosby, Senior Vice President, Commerce Bank.
In honor of Terry, the William T. Kemper and Commerce Bancshares
foundations awarded a joint grant to Jamestown New Horizons. Thank you
so much!
The Commerce Bank Community Service Award is dedicated to
recognizing those individuals who work diligently toward community
betterment and the enhancement of the lives of others. Persons receiving
this award have made outstanding contributions to organizations that
serve the needs of our regions. Terry fits this description exactly.
Terry is truly an incredible person and has been a volunteer at JNH
for over 26 years. She is one of the founding members and served as
Executive Director for two years. Besides volunteering with the student
lessons, she continues to serve on the JNH Board and is involved in
event planning and fundraising. She is typical of many of the JNH
volunteers who devote so much time, energy and talent to make JNH
possible. JNH values every single one of its volunteers and the depth
they give to the program. Terry represents all of the JNH volunteers by
receiving this award. Congratulations, Terry! |
